Chandigarh, December 24, 2016

In the wake of the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections the Bhartiya Janata Party has stepped up its political campaign with state party president Vijay Sampla launching a Vijay Sankalp Rath Yatra from Amritsar on December 28. The Yatra will traverse all the 23 assembly constituencies where the party fields its candidates and will culminate in Jalandhar on January 7.

Providing more information, state party secretary Vineet Joshi said, “Led by Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla, the Vijay Sankalp Rath Yatra will kick start the party’s campaign for the upcoming assembly polls. BJP’s national and state leaders will be joining the Yatra on different occasions throughout its course. A special Rath has been designed for the Yatra. A special meeting under the Chairmanship of State general secretary Organisation Dinesh Kumar was held at the state party headquarters today to discuss the preparations for the Yatra which was attended by cabinet ministers, MLAs, former MLAs, state office-bearers and incharges and functionaries of the various fronts of the party”.

It is to be noted that after taking charge of the party, Vijay Sampla had started a Tiranga Yatra in August this year which received enormous support from the party workers and it had instilled confidence in the party.
